Dear Women:

The Deaf Women United Conference is coming to New Orleans , Louisiana . It is with great pleasure that I write this letter. I am the chairlady of the 11 th bieannial conference and it is with great pride that the Deaf Women of Baton Rouge will host it. The conference will take place during the week of June 20-24, 2007 at Hilton Inn right across from the New Orleans airport.

We are well aware that some women wonder about Katrina. Yes, it destroyed many homes in the eastern part of New Orleans but the location of the conference is not affected at all. Yes, it destroyed our culture but not our spirit. Yes, it will take years before New Orleans will be back to normal but we shall rise again.

We anticipate approximately 275 women to be in attendance. Knowing what New Orleans has to offer, it is of no wonder why this site was chosen. It is our intention to make this a memorable experience for the women visiting this particularly interesting city of Louisiana . As the chairlady for this event, I assure you that you will have a great deal of excitement and participation.

The members of the Deaf Women of Baton Rouge wish to welcome you to "The Big Easy" next year. In this packet you will find all information regarding the conference.
