Bio :

Chenae Laldee is a Program Analyst (Human Resources Specialist) for U.S. Department of State (DOS) at Washington, DC. Chenae also serves as a Board of Director for Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf Alumni Association (NTIDAA). Additionally, Chenae studies in Masters in Human Resources Management at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC).

Chenae Laldee was born in Washington D.C., in 1991, however she was raised in Hyattsville, Maryland and then relocated to Olney, Maryland in 2000. Chenae is a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf (Frederick) in 2009. Chenae was inducted into the National Honor Society. She excelled in track, cheerleading and her role as a peer-mediator. Then she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Change with concentrations in Human Resources and Political Science in December 2013. She has served as social and cultural director for RIT/NTID Ebony Club and also for the RIT/NTID Caribbean Deaf Club. Chenae continues to lead a very active lifestyle and participates in a variety of sports and organizations to include the National Society of Leadership and Success and her local neighborhood community group. Chenae has also served as Miss Black Deaf America 2013-2015 where she focused on raising awareness and promoting educational resources on her Facebook page and YouTube with broad topics discussed in posts and video blogs to include about the deaf culture, American Sign Language, health, poetry, and etc. As Miss Black Deaf America, Chenae travelled across the nation and to two countries (Grenada and South Africa)  where she donated school materials, met with important stakeholders in deaf education, and aimed to inspire deaf children and youth to reach their full potential. Chenae got married in September 2016, relocated to Rockville, Maryland and adopted a pure-breed chocolate lab, Chai. 

Chenae is very adventurous and tremendously enjoys travelling around the country and internationally to places such as Spain, Morocco, Mexico and more. Chenae also enjoys to share her platform on Facebook (www.facebook.com/mindbodyandcurls) & Instagram (@mindbodyandcurls) regarding to her passion for a healthy mind (perspective/awareness), body (activities, workouts and self-care), and most importantly, healthy hair (techniques & products to keep hair/skin to be healthier and beautiful) with beauties and gents that deserves to embrace and celebrate their uniqueness every single day.
